Brussels, 8 October 2010: Europe’s outspoken Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding, who challenged the French President Nicholas Sarkozy over his policy towards Roma, has been nominated for European of the Year in the 2010 EVawards.

In an eclectic mixture of nominees, Spain’s World Cup-winning football team is also nominated as well as the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy.
